All aboard for a scenic train ride through the Western North Carolina mountains. We’ll be taking the Nantahala Gorge Excursion. The excursion departs from Bryson City, goes to Nantahala, and returns. The 44-mile round trip will feature breathtaking views through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the Alarka Mountains, the Cowee Mountains, the Cheoah Mountains, and finally into the gorge surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest. Highlights of the train ride include Fontana Lake, Devil’s Kitchen Caves, and of course, the Nantahala Gorge. Returning approximately 11:00PM. Note: The Great Smoky Mountain Railway schedule is subject to change.
